  Arklow : Profile

Docking

Lying on the east coast of Ireland, south of Wicklow, Arklow is a lively town. Previously is was one of the busiest ports in Ireland and a renowned centre for boat building and fishing.

The marina is on the NE bank of the Avoca River and provides perfect shelter. Access is possible at all states of the tide, although the entrance to the river can be difficult to locate at night.

Anchorage in the bay has good holding, but beware of the whelk pots.
