Clearance

All formalities are handled at the marinas. Particulars of vessel and crew will be required but bear in mind that Gibraltar is not part of the EU and visa requirements are different to those of Spain and Portugal.

Full service marina. Code required to access pontoons. 120 berths. Metred water & electricity to pontoons. No repair facilities. Laundry service. Clearance facilities.

Docking

The only docking facilities are those at the Marina Bay and Queensway Quay Marinas. Currently (2008) both have construction works underway and so are not as clean and quiet as they might be.

The entrance to Queensway Quay marina has been moved to the northern end of the breakwater. There are plans to develop a new large marina on the eastern side of The Rock. All marinas offer reduced winter rates.

The marina previously known as Sheppard's has been sold to a developer and is now closed to visitors. It is expected to re-open in 2007 as the Ocean Village Complex, with a small marina. Sheppard's chandlery continues to operate from the same site, but the boatyard repair facilities have been moved to Coaling Island.

Anchoring Anchoring in Gibraltar is no longer allowed so yachts must berth in a marina as they all now handle clearing processes.

One of the oldest yacht clubs in the world, founded in 1829. No berthing facilities. reciprocal arrangements with several overseas yacht clubs allow their members to use the premises.
