Borkun is the western-most of the German Frisian islands and the town has the same name. Not the prettiest of places but a useful deep water approach for Germany.

The yacht harbour is in the old naval dock and has rather high floating pontoons. Yachthaven "Port Henry" is first harbour to port. HM reports yachts with <1.4m can enter and leave at all states of tide. (avoid fingerberths W in harbour where shallow). Deeper draft yachts should enter and leave HW +/- 2 hrs and will touch bottom at LW in soft mud. Moor alongside old pontoons. Exposed in strong southerlies

There are also visitors' berths in Burkana Hafen, second harbour to port. Visiting yachts moor alongside large pontoons on N in harbour. Deep with room for large yachts. Uncomfortable in southerlies.

There is a steam railway which takes you into the town.

Second harbour to port. Berth on the N side of piers 4-6. Deep and room for large yachts but not good in southerlies. Fuel in cans only. Launderette.Small cafe in Harbour office.

First harbour to port. 1.4m draft yachts can enter and leave at all states of tide but avoid fingerberths west in harbour as too shallow. Deeper draft yachts entr and leave HW+/- 2hours. Many yachts will touch bottom at LW in soft mud. Moor at old pontoons. Diesel in small quantities, some chandlery, restaurant and bar. Buses and train from harbour
