French Subantarctic Territory : Profile
The French Subantarctic Territory (Territoire des Terres Australes et Antarctiques Francaises (TAAF)) consists of the islands of Saint-Paul, Amsterdam, Crozet and Kerguelen which are French possessions. Wildlife is protected by a National Park Act. There are several Protected Areas which may be visited by permit only. Yachts should call first at one of the TAAF research stations and contact the Chef de District.
