 Les Sables d'Olonne : Profile
This attractive port in the North Eastern sector of the Bay of Biscay has become better known now through its hosting of the Vendee Globe Round the World yacht race.
The town is an interesting mix of holiday resort, fishing port and yacht harbour. Some of the world's best sea salt is produced here, using traditional methods.

Berthing
The main mooring for yachts is in the huge Port Olona marina. Just recently completed is a new marina on the S side of the Bassin de Peche, which is the first basin to sta'bd after the harbour entrance.
