Santo Domingo : Profile
Situated at the mouth of the Ozama River on the south coast, Santo Domingo has well preserved historic buildings and facinating narrow cobbled streets. The city also has a wealth of historic relics in the many museums.
At present this is not an particulary attractive place to moor. There is a municipal marina a few miles up the river with limited facilities and the current here is strong. Nor is Haina a particularly attractive port of call.
There are plans to revitalization the port area and build a modern marina. In the meantime, mooring at Boca Chica might be a better option and visiting the city from there.
