  La Restinga : Profile

Docking

Visiting yachts should come alongside the southern dock if there is space. Although the quay is high there are step ladders leading right down to the water. Alternativelhy anchor off. A port official will normally come to the boat.

La Restinga
The fishing port was being expanded in 2005 with the addition of a western breakwater which should greatly improve protection. Arriving yachts should come alongside the main quay where they will be visited by a port official. There is a small hotel by the port (Kai Marine) where sailors are allowed to use the showers (3 euros). The south coast of El Hierro, west of La Restinga, has been declared a nature reserve. Anchoring and diving is now prohibited in this protected area.

Port Office

Security guards patrol the port outside official opening hours and will deal with yachts..
