• It is allowed for foreign tourists boats to buy fuel up to 200 US gallons in La Libertad area. The shipping agent is assisting cruisers to obtain fuel at US$2.50 per gallon.

• Upon arrival a boat will be given a clearance by customs for up to 90 days. Near the end of that time, an additional clearance for 90 days may be applied for up to 180 days clearance maximum. An agent needs to be involved for each clearance.

• We are working closely with Navy, Custom authorities and Ministry of Tourism to allow sailing boats to remain in Ecuador up to 5 years. These changes if they are approved may take some time yet.
