A joint circular by Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Immigration & Registration was issued to all clubs on 19th April 2002. Please refer to the following new procedures for arrival / departure of pleasure yachts.
Immigration Clearance on Board Pleasure Yachts.
With immediate effect, all pleasure yachts are required to call at either Western Quarantine & Immigration Anchorage (Grid Ref: 4913D) or Changi General Purposes Anchorage (Grid Ref: 0319A) for arrival / departure Immigration clearance on board. Pleasure yachts requiring immigration clearance are to display the "2" and "5" flags by day and two green lights in a vertical line by night. The immigration office may also be contacted on VHF channel 14.
The immigration officer will conduct face to face check on all persons on the yacht. A Landing Pass valid for two weeks will then be granted to those eligible for it.
Janena Gross, Regional Editor, adds:
New Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Procedures were implemented at the beginning of May for Singapore. All immigration clearing out and back into Singapore must be done at sea. There are two designated anchorages that may be used. The first is located at grid reference 4913D and is shown on your chart as the Western Quarantine & Immigration Anchorage. This is just to the north of the Sister Islands. There are two immigration boats standing by in this area and they monitor VHF channel 14. The second designated anchorage is Changi General Purposes Anchorage, which is located at grid reference 0319A. If you plan ahead for your next trip out of Singapore you can notify immigration of your intended departure and return to the clearing anchorage by submitting the completed Arrival/Departure Advice Form which is available from the Marine Office.T his form needs to be faxed to the Immigration Office (Fax No: 6293 67543) at least 6 hours before your intended departure or arrival. By using this service you ensure that the immigration officers who are on the station at the anchorage are informed in advance and will be expecting you. This will help speed up the process of clearing.
