Belgium is the latest location for another low cost HF e-mail gateway in the growing network of SailMail stations around the world.

The SailMail Association provides members with low cost HF e-mail gateways in the world?s popular cruising destinations and major ocean passages. The Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans are well covered with stations in continental USA, Canada, Hawaii, Australia, Brunei and South Africa.

The addition of this Belgian gateway means easier connections for members cruising European waters.

SailMail is the economical e-mail service designed for the needs of recreational vessels. With nine gateways strategically located around the world, SailMail provides members with regional connections for an annual membership of just US$200, and no call time costs. Members exchange e-mails with other members on passage, and with any other e-mail address in the world.

SailMail?s recently opened Asian, NW Pacific and Indian Ocean gateway in Brunei (www.bruneibay.net/bbradio ) extended the SailMail service this year for members making the seasonal passage from Australia through the Indonesian Archipelago to Malaysia and Thailand, where many yachts are now waiting for the change in monsoon to begin their passage across the Indian Ocean, through the Red Sea and into the Mediterranean. Some SailMail Association members took the SE trades route to carry them from Australia to the Cocos Islands and on to Chagos, where they too are waiting for the monsoon change before heading for the Red Sea.

SailMail?s new Belgian station will provide an ever closer e-mail gateway as these circumnavigating yachts move out of the Indian Ocean and head for Europe.
