The annual Three Peaks Yacht Race from Barmouth to Fort William will make a stopover at Oban Marina, sailing on Friday 21st May. Known as the Grandfather of all three peaks races, the original mountain running, cycling and yachting race is one of the oldest extreme multi-sport endurance races in the world. 20 teams have signed up so far. The first team to get their runners back to the finish line in Fort William, having completed all the mountains, wins the coveted Daily Telegraph Cup. The Three Peaks Yacht Race attracts some of the world's best sailors and runners, as well as teams who hope just to complete the course, which is a considerable achievement in its own right.
