Further information for your guidance:

Present indications transit scheduling for yacht are normal and not experiencing any delays on programming.

Criteria is based on :-

Three Pilot advisors per day for Southbound Transit.
Three Pilot advisors per day for Northbound Transit

Tandem schedule based on size of yacht and vessel in front(or other motor craft).

Remember one yacht is never taken alone into lockage.

Once the master confirms to the canal authorities ready for transit and inspections passed, yachts are schedule 24/48 hours.

Only major maintenance for 2010 has been tentatively scheduled for Sep 8-17 (10 days) - Gatun Locks.

During this period canal capacity will reduce with consequent delays/congestion.

Please be guided accordingly.

Fees
Fees for Yachts remains the same:
Up to 50 feet (15.24m) - US$500
50ft to 80ft (24.38m) - US$750
80ft to 100ft (30.48m) - US$1,000
Over 100ft - US$1,500

Our thanks to Erick for this information.

January 21st 2010

Up to this date no unusal Transit delays but "The Big Rush" about starting now and the next couple of months many boats will arrive but I still do not expect excessive waitingtime, I estimate may have around 1 week after inspection and payment.

Thanks to Karsten Staffeldt for this update.
