Cruising the Tuamotus is a highlight of any Pacific crossing, and an
eclipse will only make it better. Plan now to be there for this
spectacular celestial phenomenon.
Amanu and Hao look to be one of the best spots for viewing the eclipse.
And it looks like they both have navigable passes. There are several other
motus that are in the path of the total eclipse, but most are smaller
atolls without any passes.
A total solar eclipse is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'd recommend
that anyone cruising French Polynesia in 2010 make an effort to be in the
