Cruisers Recommend Insurance Companies

Just want to comment that we were looking for 3rd party insurance (also called Liability Insurance), which nearly all marinas in the Mediterranean require. We are Americans on an American boat launched in 1976. Pantanius and most others would not handle American boats or boats over 30 years old.

However one of noonsite’s advertisers Poe-Ma Insurances (www.poema.pf) info@poema.pf was able to quote us for what we wanted for much less than the only American company to reply. And Poe-Ma was quite friendly and very good at answering emails and being helpful. I strongly encourage anyone seeking insurance to also ask Poe-Ma Insurances.

Ironically, a French agent that I had emailed months ago but had had no acknowledgement at all, finally replied just as Poe-Ma was working out the last details with me. This other agent offered what seemed to be more coverage for a very slight reduction in cost. So, I apologized to Poe-Ma and went with the company that does not answer emails quickly.

Poe-Ma was very gracious and we parted friends.

Now the company that does not answer emails quickly is giving me problems, so based on my experience so far, I would say, “Buyer beware. Poe-Ma was very good to me, but the ‘low bidder’ has not been. It is ongoing, but I may be with Poe-Ma yet.”
