Sailing Vessel ULTIMATE is Overdue

The S/V Ultimate is overdue on a crossing from the Azores to the English Channel. We fear for the worst, and that two of our dear friends, are additional casualties of Hurricane Klaus which swept the area January 23.

Two persons on board. LAO 19m, grey steel hull with dark blue band, cutter rig. 6 person life raft. Call sign KG6FUZ
Last contact via radio e-mail 22 January 2009 around 1500UTC The gist of the message "After three days running with an average of 7 knots we are preparing ourselves for a stormy period. We are running under third reef and the fourth reef is ready to be used. Still doing 7 knots."

Calculated position on basis of this message would be 43N 20W 15.00UTC 22nd January.
