Boats anchoring off Ibiza are advised not to anchor at the entrance to the Port of Ibiza.

A leisure boat owner was recently fined €150,000 for anchoring there and delaying the arrival of a commercial ship.

The area around the mouth of the port is regularly used by leisure skippers as an anchorage but it is strictly forbidden by the port authorities.

The man's boat was confiscated and will be returned upon payment of the fine.
