(For Clearance) yachts no longer go to the main wharfs.

There is a new Yacht Clearance Berth in the small boat harbour Faua. This is directly in front of the entrance, combined with the fuel & water dock. Position is 21.04.971S, 175.12.649W.

Authorities will come to the yacht to complete clearance.

The Port Authority listens to Ch 14 (sometimes).
Nuku'alofa Radio listens to Ch 16 & 12, also 2182kHz.

The notice about reserving this berth is in very small print and cannot be read from the harbour entrance!

No clearance on weekends or out of hours (8.30 - 16:30 - lunch 12:30-13:30), except by prior arrangement. If arriving out of hours, go to Pangimotu anchorage and wait.

Oficials do not like small dinghies.
