A Year in New Caledonia

Published 14 years ago, updated 5 years ago

Our boat spent a year in New Caledonia, it´s very French and quite beautiful.

We flew in from Australia six times for a week or so. We saw a fair amount in and around Noumea. There are great places to anchor and visit.

We used a shoreside company called Noumea Yacht Services, to handle our marina fees etc. and the required work to fix various things. Well – they were incompetent and dishonest. They were charging us marina fees while they put us on a mooring. They double charged the local service fee and mechanical fees. So (we recommend) not to use this company.

Instead, we recommend an expat Kiwi called Clive Judd, he was great and gets the work done at a good rate. His email is [email protected]
