Sri Lanka - we recommend a visit

Dear Noonsite,

I would like to give my appreciation to Marlan Jayasuriya who did a wonderful job in Galle, Sri Lanka.

We sailed from Turkey in November via the Red Sea with stops at Hurgada, Port Galib, Aden then to Salalah and next stop was Galle in Sri Lanka. We enjoyed this part of the world and would reccomend a visit.

Marlan, our Agent, was very helpful and presented us with prepaid local sim cards for our phones (at no cost), as well as did a fabulous job making some five courtesy flags, getting parts for my boat and taking us on a wonderful trip to Colombo and Kandy, including good accommodation and a train ride that you will never forget. We found our 7 days to be very welcoming and a pleasurable experience that didn't cost the earth and I would highly reccommend to all yachties.

We then sailed direct to Phuket and arrived on the 20th February, a slow hard sail.

We found no evidence of Tamil Tigers or any signs of any unrest during our travels through this great country and can't understand why all yachties don't visit.
