As reported by Cruising Compass

All cruisers in the Bahamas are invited to join the Georgetown to Long Island Cruising race, which is tentatively scheduled for the first week of February 2010 (date dependent on weather).

For the past two years, this event has been the beginning of the Georgetown Cruising Regatta. This is a fun race that is an excuse to sail to Long Island for three days of parties. Last year saw 45 boats racing and other boats cruised in to join the fun, which included a dinner at Club Thompson Bay and a Potluck at the Island Breeze, which serves as race headquarters.

This year the Long Island Tourism office is planning even more events for the 2nd weekend of February.
