Extra information about the expanded marina in Ponta Delgada.

The extension of the marina has been a big mistake. The marina has now become extremely sensitive of swell from the sea in winds from east to south-west. Westerly winds tends to be strong and the marina extension is not at all protected from those winds.

We have stayed here over a month now and consider this marina utterly unsafe. Our plan was to stay here over the winter, but it is not possible. We shall try to move to the more protected marina in Horta (Faial).

The bird droppings (seagulls) are a worse problem than ever. One has to wade through droppings all over the pontoons, should be considered a health risk.
