Countries: Grenada

Mr. Ian Evans, Port Manager, has issued the following Notice to Mariners: “Owners and operators of all marine crafts navigating within the Lagoon Basin are advised that the next phase of the Port Louis Mariner Jetty construction has commenced and will run until 1 December, 2009.

Operators of all marine craft are advised to proceed with caution and stay clear of that area south of the following positions:

Position #1: The end of Port Louise Concrete Jetty GPS coordinates 12 degrees 02 minutes 44 second, 61 degrees 44 minutes 55 seconds.

Then east to position #2: A Yellow marker buoy GPS coordinates 12 degrees 02 minutes 42 seconds, 61 degrees 44 minutes 47 seconds.

Then to position #3: The end of Gleans Jetty GPS coordinates 12 degrees 02 minutes 35 seconds, 61 degrees 44 minutes 47 seconds.

This notice is issued in accordance with CCAP 247, Section 678, Sub-Section1.”

Plotting these positions and following the instructions to stay clear of the area south of these positions means yachts cannot go by dinghy to the Foodland dock nor take the yacht itself beyond the dock in front of Island Water World.

In addition, anchoring space is severely restricted due to the Grenada Yacht Club facilities.
