Is Algeria safe? Worth the effort to go stop there?

We are a US flagged North Wind 47 in Barcelona, headed for Ibiza, then to Marbella, Gibraltar, and Tangier, and are considering a stop in Sidi Fredj.

No one on board speaks any Arabic or French.

Any cruisers that have visited Algeria, please get in touch with info.

Hi Michael,

The situation in Algeria has greatly improved recently and I don't think you should have any problems stopping in Sidi Fredj. You ought to take the usual precautions if travelling inland.

If you do stop, please let us know how it all went.
