Missing Japanese Sailor Safe

Created by sue. Last modified on 2009-06-18 17:04:53

BREAKING: AS REPORTED BY ECOTERRA INTL.

We just received information from Japan, that Akio Yonago, the one-armed Japanese sailor on S/Y EMU II has today arrived in Thailand and is safe and well.

Akio Yonago's son received a fax from his father hours ago. Akio has arrived in Phuket, and is safe and sound. Reports that he might have been sea-jacked on 28th April by Somali pirates triggered our search-and-rescue operation along the whole Indian Ocean Coast in Somalia, looking for him and his boat. Fellow sailors and YACHT-PALS, the worlds largest boating community, also searched for him with no result.

Nobody knew where he was until today. The tough sailor dodged everybody - even the pirates.
