Hauling Out in Thailand

I too found Ratanachai Shipyard a truly dreadful place. They tried to rip me off on several points but they failed.

I had good mechanical work done in that yard but none of it was done by the yard's own workers. It was all done by outside contractors. The yard only employs unskilled painters.

There was a change of management in mid 2008 and they are no longer accepting private yachts. Their customers are now purely commercial craft, mainly fishing boats. So, don't plan to go there for hauling out.

There are no haul out facilities at the Yacht Haven and the Boat Lagoon is far too expensive.

I would recommend PSS Shipyard near Satun in Southern Thailand. Next to Langkawi.
