Eric Baicy & Sherrell Watson have been publishing their inexpensive cruising guides for Central America for the last 5 years - www.svsarana.com./guide.

New editions are put out every 6-8 months.

Explore Central America - Part 1, was first published in January 2007 and is now in its 13th edition last updated in August 2011. This covers the Pacific side of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.

Explore Central America - Part 2, was first published in January 2008 and is now in its 6th edition, also last updated in August 2011. This covers the Pacific side of Costa Rica and Panama.

Both e-books are available from www.svsarana.com./guide and are very comprehensive guides about cruising the Pacific coast of Central America from Mexico to the Panama Canal. In a two part set, these books provide over 325 GPS waypoints, over 112 charts and city maps, detailed weather descriptions, forecasting information and surfing locations. These books highlight dozens of anchorages not in other books and tons of local information that sailors care about. Also included are detailed procedures for clearing into and out of the Central American countries as well as Ecuador, the Galapagos and Mexico.

There is also a free guide book available for the Pacific Coast of Colombia available here.
