Fabulous & v. reasonable marina (3 wks for our 12m yacht-out of season-£85 approx!) with facilities improving on an almost daily basis. We left end Oct. when washer & dryer functional and both marina & fuel NOW TAKE CREDIT CARDS. They will escort you in & out if they see you or you contact on VHF & neither depth nor cross currents seemed to be a problem to anyone. Sale medina we found the most friendly of all Morocco with no significant pestering for money & locals v. happy to chat & help.

We spent September 2008 moored in the (new Bouregreg) marina and found everyone very helpful and friendly. The fuel quay is now functional; we were one of its first customers. The supermarket in the marina has also opened (basic supplies only) and a cafe (not sure of opening hours or what it offers as we were there during Ramadan). Other works continue apace.

There is concern about the depths given on older charts for the approach into Rabat/Salé, but we did not see less than 3 metres in the channel. It is best to telephone or radio the marina on arrival and they will send a pilot boat out to escort you up the river. This is part of the marina service.

The marina is a secure place to leave your boat and explore Morocco. If going by train, use Salé station, it is much closer than Rabat.

An important point to note: credit cards are NOT accepted by the marina or the fuel quay, cash is required.

We have organised a 10% discount for Cruising Association members.

We spent 10 days at the marina and I can only recommend it. Very friendly and helpful staff, secure marina with guards 24 hours. The river and entrance are no problem at a rising tide and with calm weather as we had. Watch for the fishing nets in the river. Call the marina for a pilot with dinghy if you feel the need, it’s free. We left the boat there to travel to Volubilis, Fes and the Middle Atlas. We will return to see more of that wonderful country. It is an advantage if you speak French as everybody speaks it there.
