Report on Rota, near Cadiz

Countries: Spain

We over wintered at Rota from October, 2007 to April, 2008.

The marina (Rota Marina) has clean, efficient, modern toilets and showers with adequate washing and drying machines. The front counter staff were very pleasant though there is an air of aloofness within the attitude of the administrators.

Rota itself has a lovely old town area, proudly steeped in Spanish history and is well worth a visit. It has the honour of hosting the most "party days" (festivals) in Spain and is a town where the Spanish go on holiday, so one would assume that they would know where is worth visiting!

The historic area of Cadiz is an easy and quick ferry trip from the Marina.

We would highly recommend Rota.
