As of January 2003, The Panama Canal Authority through an internal memorandum ordered the end of partial transits to Pedro Miguel Boat Club. All yachts presently at Pedro Miguel who wish to leave the Club will be allowed, but no new entries will be allowed until further notice.

In the past boats could do a partial transit and spend as long they wished in the fresh water lake at Pedro Miguel.

The Club is fighting this decision through legal recourse.

Yachts that cannot go more than 5 knots in Gatun Lake will not be allowed to transit. If a yacht while transiting does not make it's allotted lockage schedule, it may have to pay a transit delay fee of $440.00 US/dollars besides the tolls.
