Brazil NE, November: Yacht Nirvana 3 boarded off San Luis by 4 armed men, crew badly injured

Cape Verdes, 250 miles NW of the Islands, 16 May: Canadian yacht Arioso II intercepted by fishing vessel, attacker shaken off

Gulf of Aden, 12 February: Gypsy Moth IV approached by small vessel, attack foiled as yacht in convoy

Madagascar, 19 October: Canadian yacht Ciel & Mer, sailed by couple attacked violently by 3 armed men, crew injured

Papua New Guinea, 16 July, yacht Star Isi boarded in Madang by 3 armed men, couple badly injured

Red Sea off Yemen, 21 March: yacht approached by two fishing vessels

St. Vincent, 23 December: couple on charter yacht violently attacked by 3 armed men, crew injured

St. Vincent: two other similar incidents reported to police

Venezuela: four boardings and robberies reported from Porlamar, also one from Isla Margarita in January 2008.
