We are in Ecuador at the moment in Salinas. We are trying to gather information about whether a September passage to Fr Polynesia with a holdover in Raitea would make any sense. The holdover is potentially problematic, I know, but we could not make NZ in the alotted time. I was especially Interested in thoughts about the Ecuador-Galapagos-Marquesas-fr Polynesia passage. We have pretty good motoring capacity.

A September passage is ok. Normally tropical cyclones in the South Pacific are very rarely early (i.e. before mid-November), so even October should not be too late to get to Raiatea. Do make sure you have a place reserved there - ideally ashore at the yard.
