Indonesian 50% boat tax/bond Update

Bali Marina was recently asked the following question by a concerned sailor:

What is the status of the 50% boat tax/bond? I'm waiting to buy another boat until I'm sure I can spend many months in Indonesia. Is there a way around this bond?

Tax/bond will do for commercial foreign boats in Indonesia. Private yachts don't need pay bond/tax.
