We shall have a sailing boat in Cuba March/April time. My daughter and her boyfriend would like to join us. I understand that any new crew member should be added to the crew list when they arrive - this is done by immigration at a Port of Entry. When they fly into Cuba is it possible for them to make their way straight to the boat or do they have to stay in an hotel for two nights as tourists first? We have been told that this is the case - is it true?
On behalf of Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba and on my own may I inform you that your daughter and her boyfriend can join you when you are in Cuba. When they arrive at the airport, they must inform to the Immigration authorities that they are going to join their family that it is in a boat in Cuba and tell them the name of the marina and the boat. When your daughter and her boyfriend arrive at the marina, they must see the Immigration authorities in order to join the crew of the boat. From our yacht club we can help you and your daughter and her boyfriend with the port authorities.
