Singapore to Australia Via Borneo & Ambon: Seeking Other Yachts

We are leaving first week of October from the marina at 1.15 Singapore. Our thoughts are to head to Kota Kinabaloo around the top of Borneo to Sandakan then to Ambon and then to Thursday Island then over the top and down to Brisbane. Any thoughts and any reports on priacy in Borneo and interested in knowing if any other boats are heading in this similar direction.
