New Rules In Apia, Samoa

Created by doina. Last modified on 2007-08-29 12:01:23
Countries: Samoa

As of 23 August 2007 yachts visiting Apia, Samoa, are required to berth in the brand-new marina, as the old anchoring grounds are needed as turning space for the container ships. The rates range from WS$28/day for a 12.5 meter yacht (1 USD = WS$ 2.5524) to WS$102 for a 30m yacht.

If a yacht had to anchor in the harbor for any reason they would still have to pay the berthing rate.

On the other hand, the US$ 50 which had to be paid to the harbor masters office previously, will not have to be paid any more.

Thanks to Holger Jacobsen and Jim Sublett for sending the information.
