Best Track late August Subic Bay to Labuan

Can you advise whether it would be better to track West or East of Palawan Island enroute Subic Bay to Labuan last week of August 2007.

We do not give coastal advice, only tips on offshore routes. However, as August is one of the worst months for tropical cyclones in that area, I would worry more about the weather than the shortest route. Your best bet is to try to obtain the best long term forecast possible, and then make the passage as fast as possible.
