Jorgen Fermefors of s/y Pacific Pearl has reported to Noonsite that the Combined Naval Forces were patrolling the Gulf in 2007. In addition, the Yemen Coast Guard had been strengthened and were on watch along the coast. The recommendation from both of the above was to sail 10 Nm from the Yemeni coast. Most yachts followed this advice, and sailed in 3-5 boat convoys. No incidents were reported.
