Indonesian Authorities Tougher On Yachts

It has been reported to Noonsite that the Indonesian Custom authorities have recently started an intense verification program of all boats cruising in Indonesia and will not hesitate to impound the boat if one's papers are not in order.

However, Noonsite has heard from Bali International Marina that these inspections are for foreign boats brought into Indonesia and changed illegally to the Indonesian flag without paying duty and taxes. It does not have anything to do with foreign yachts with valid cruising permits who are visiting Indonesia for touristic purposes.
