Routing Advice Galapagos to Mexico

I am trying to get some advice on a route from the Galapagos to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Fran,

That's about the easiest question received at noonsite recently!

You can either sail direct from Galapagos, closing with the Costa Rica coast and then running parallel to the coast (see my World Cruising Routes for tactics along that coast), or you might prefer to take a direct, offshore route all the way. As you approach the Bay of Panama you may run into north headwinds - one more reason to stay offshore longer.
