Estonia

Citizens of the following countries do not require visas to enter Estonia for stays of up to 90 days:- The EU, the EEA member states, Andorra, Argentina, Australia , Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Holy See, Honduras, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, United States of America, Uruguay and Venezuela. The holders of South African passports can enter Estonia if they hold a visa for Latvia or Lithuania. Citizens of countries NOT mentioned above require a visa to enter Estonia.

Finland

Clearance - add: A yacht coming directly from (or departing Finland for) another Schengen country need not go to the passport control point provided that they sail within the official channels.

When sailing between Finland and non-Schengen country (in the Baltic Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland), a yacht always has to go to the passport control point and to file a customs declaration.

Immigration - add Craft coming directly from, or departing to, another Schengen country (i.e. Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Norway, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden) need not go to a passport control point.

Latvia

Visas are not required by nationals of the EU, EEC and also Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Israel, Macao, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela for stays of up to 90 days within a six month period. Nationals of all other countries must apply for a visa, valid up to 90 days. Visa extensions are obtained from the Visa Office, Raina Bulvaris 5, Riga. Tel. (2) 2 219 176. For up-to-date visa information and also addresses of Lativa consulates and embassies, look at the Latvian Gouvernment website (http://www.am.gov.lv/en/?id=21).

Customs: Guns, narcotics, pornography, etc. are strictly banned. There are no restrictions on the amount of hard currency you can bring in or take out. Objects dating before 1945 are subject to tax and require an export permit from the Ministry of Culture (C-3) on Pils 22; tel. 721-4100, fax 722-7916; open:08:30-17; Sat., Sun. closed. Make sure you take along the receipt to prove it was paid for and not stolen. Customs rules appear to change frequently, with officials sometimes interpreting them as they see fit. Lithuania

Citizens of the following countries do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days:- EU, Andorra; Argentina; Australia; Bolivia; Brazil; Brunei; Canada; Chile; Costa Rica; Guatemala; Honduras; Israel; Japan; South Korea; Malaysia; Malta; Mexico; New Zealand; Nicaragua; Norway; Panama; Paraguay; San Marino; El Salvador; Singapore; Slovakia; Slovenia; Switzerland; The United States of America; Uruguay and Venezuela.

Norway

Nationals of the following countries are not required to have a visa prior to entry into Norway as of June 2003: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bermuda*, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark,El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong (SAR-passport), Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korean Republic, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau (SAR-passport), Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, USA, Uruguay, Vatican State, Venezuela.

Extensions can be obtained from the police, but then the person will not be allowed back for a further six months.

Visa applicants must show that they are in possession of adequate and valid travel insurance before being issued with a visa to Norway. Norway is a part of the Schengen area, and this insurance requirement is the same for all Schengen countries. The insurance must be valid throughout the territory of the Schengen countries, and the minimum coverage shall be 30.000 Euro.

Poland

All EU citizens do not require a visa. A 90 day visa-free stay is permitted for citizens of: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Korea, Ecuador, Honduras, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, San Marino, Switzerland, USA, Uruguay. A 30 day visa-free stay is permitted for citizens of: Singapore. Citizens of all other countries must obtain a visa.

Russia

Immigration – add: On arrival, yachts do not have to stop at Fort Konstantin, Kronstadt for Passport Control any longer. They are expected to go directly to the Passenger Sea Terminal for clearing Customs/Immigration.
