Boat size in the Med?

I intend to spend at least three years cruising the Med, I was going to upgrade my boat from 40ft 50 ft - I have now been told that anything over 45ft is very hard to get a berth, Most marina are under 45 ft. IS THIS TRUE!!!

Med marinas cater for all boat sizes - even over 100 ft. The problem is finding a space, even for a 40 footer.
