Admiral Boat Insurance was launched in 1992 when Admiral's unique insurance product was created. Managing Director Robert Holbrook, who was previously a partner in a firm of London Brokers, recognised the need for a flexible insurance product that, in particular, catered for today’s cruising sailors and rally participants.

Admiral Marine is committed to providing the very highest standards of personal service. Since 14 January 2005 Admiral has been authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The FSA regulations provide further support to their own high standards in Customer Service.

Admiral are underwriting agents for certain underwriters at Lloyd’s, more specifically the Watkins syndicate, who are owned by Munich Re, which is highly rated by Standard and Poor's. Admiral also acts as an insurance broker placing risks in the open market.

Admiral Marine Limited specialise in insuring the larger yachts and motor yachts based in Northern European waters, the Mediterranean, South East Asia and the Caribbean as well as blue water cruisers undertaking long distance voyages. With a long-term involvement in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), Admiral has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience in the needs of Trans-Atlantic crossings, cruising in the Caribbean and beyond.
