A fleet of over 90 yachts left Darwin at 1100 on 22 July in a light 10 knot southeasterly breeze. With light winds the majority of the yachts had arrived in Kupang by August 3 according to reports on the Rally website www.sailindonesia.net

The fleet is an international mix with yachts coming from some 15 countries, the majority being from Australia and New Zealand. Participants will enjoy a series of Cultural Expos at five different islands in Indonesia, with the Tourism Departments on each of these islands having planned at least two cultural events for this rally at each stopover, a gala welcome and a dinner along with the cultural and dance performances. Following the events in Indonesia, the rally will then continue on into Malaysia finishing at the island of Langkawi in November.
