Regulations On Import Of Dogs Into Australia

There are two options:
The first is moor mid-water while sailing around Australia with your dogs but they must be kept offshore at all times. A quarantine officer will visit the yacht at each port of call in Australia, or on a regular basis if the yacht is remaining in the same port, to ensure that the conditions stated on the "Reporting Requirements for Animals on Vessels" are being met. The quarantine officer may charge a fee for these visits. Current fees requirement can be obtained from the link to the Seaport site below:

The second option is to bring your dogs onto the mainland which requires an import permit and minimum 30 days in quarantine in Australia. AQIS advises that you should contact AQIS - Live Animal Imports at least 6 months prior to the cat or dog's arrival in Australia, or as soon as possible after reading this information. This allows time for necessary tests, treatments and paperwork to be completed.

The conditions that AQIS applies to the importation of cats and dogs are determined by the country/ies visited in the six months prior to arrival in Australia.
