The MAST Directors have over 25 years experience in maritime security, and MAST employs specialists from a wide range of professional backgrounds including Maritime Law, UK Special Forces, Royal Navy and the Merchant Navy. At MAST we do not solve part of the problem or deliver half an answer. We provide a complete round the clock security management solution that is confidential, appropriate and never intrusive. We are firmly of the view that the only way to provide appropriate and effective security is to have a seamless link between the legal and compliance process on the one hand, and the additional security services that an owner or yacht may need on the other. PEOPLE YOU CAN TRUST The Directors Philip Batty Philip Batty has been actively involved in revolutionising the security of super yachts since leaving the British Army in 1999. Eighteen years of service with the UK Special Forces, where he specialised in amphibious operations, has provided him with a unique ability to identify and apply the best security solutions for safeguarding both owner and vessel. He is responsible for the business’ operations and training services. Before establishing MAST, Philip was the Company Security Officer involved in managing a large fleet of super yachts. He has overseen the security planning for new builds and refits on exclusive yachts around the world. His extensive experience is unparalleled in the industry. Philip is a Maritime Coastguard Agency qualified ISM and ISPS Lead Auditor. Phillip Cable Since leaving the Royal Navy where he held a Commission for six years, Phillip Cable LLM has been active in providing advice and guidance to governments and commercial organisations in the field of port and ship security. In particular, he has worked throughout the Middle East in Oman, Yemen and Saudi Arabia where he advised governments on the issue of compliance relating to the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. Phillip is a law graduate and also holds a Masters degree in Maritime Law which provides him with an exceptional understanding of the sector’s specific insurance and legal requirements. Prior to his naval service he worked in the Lloyd’s of London Marine Insurance Market. Phillip is the Commercial Director responsible for security assessments, devising company strategy and managing the legal and regulatory aspects of MAST’s security service. He is a Maritime Coastguard Agency qualified ISM and ISPS Lead Auditor.
