Marina Bander Al Rowdha was taken over by Island Global Yachting on 01.04.06 and we have started restructuring this marina to our company's standards.
Marina Bander Al Rowdha is the ideal location where to stop while cruising in this part of the world. We offer all the facilities (fuel, formalities, shipchandlery, maintenance & repair, travel lift of 60 tons, boatyard, restaurant and bar (yes, beer, wine and spirits available!), regattas and other event organization etc... Several 5* hotels are very close to the marina, and the famous Old Muscat Soukh is only a few minutes away by taxi.
No problem regarding security has ever been reported to me by the previous management, and I can confirmm to you that Oman is a very safe place to visit and where to keep a yacht.
As far as the tariff is concerned, no, you don't need to be for 60' if your yacht is 40' !!! Visitors pay according to the LOA of their yacht, full stop. However, since the marina is nearly full with yearly berth holders, we cannot allocate a berth for long term and this especially if the yacht is much smaller than the berth. In that case, yes, one should pay for the size of the berth and not of the yacht, if one wants to make sure that this berth would be guranteed.
The name of the marina manager is Bob Looker. He is a British national,
lives in Oman for 25 years, and is retired from the Royal Navy... I am
sure that all yachts coming to Bander Al Rowdha will be warmly welcomed by
Bob and his team.
The marina can be reached by e-mail on: marina@omantel.net.om
Even though the marina is nearly full, Bob and his team can always find a
berth to all visitors, so nobody should have worries regarding this subject.
