Galle A Good Stop Over

We visited Galle two weeks ago, we had intended to bypass Galle and go straight to Cochin but with bad weather in the Gulf promised we thought better of it.

The officials were very friendly, did not ask for any bribes and it was indeed a pleasant experience. The guards on the gate even looked after my laundry etc whilst I went shopping. As you know Galle was badly hit by the tsunami but they are doing their best to get back to normal. There is also now a supermarket in the town near the bus station.
