Twenty-nine yachts took part in the third Tahiti Pearl Regatta with crews from New Caledonia, New Zealand, Japan and France as well as French Polynesia taking part. Following this success organizers hope to increase participation for 2007 and to extend the regatta to cover a week, thus allowing crews to spend more time in each port. A colourful series of events including a traditional Tahitian welcome ceremony accompanied the sailing amongst some of the most beautiful islands on earth.
