Aloha Noonsite, still love the site! We're contemplating returning home to Hawaii from Brisbane, and can't seem to get motivated to do the NZ, French Polynesia route! (too far south and cold for our Hawaiian blood!) We've heard of some yachts doing the Solomons, Marshalls route but it still looks very much a beat to windward. Any new ideas on this route??

Thanks so much, Rich and Kelly on "Amazing Grace"

The logical route is indeed the one via Tahiti... but yes, it can be done via the N Pacific by heading N from NZ and staying close to the equator ...and taking a lot of fuel to motorsail in light winds. Must try to stay with the equatorial countercurrent to get a small boost. More details in current edition of my World Cruising Routes.

Good luck, Jimmy Cornell noonsite
