Question:

I read from a recent email that your advice is still to avoid Ambon. I had been told that things had improved there, and yachts are now welcome. Can you update on the situation, and also advise if there are other parts on Indonesia that you suggest avoiding.

The situation in parts of Indonesia is still uncertain, and that applies to Ambon. Only recently a large group of Christians were murdered on Sulawesi so I would NOT advise you to sail that way.

We do not have an island by island situation re. Indonesia at noonsite - all we know is that Bali itself is quite safe.
